| GUIDANCE COUNSELOR - Reviews academic records and coordinates planning and services for successful transition from enrollment to transition from boarding school to other secondary and post-secondary educational programs. Provides educational assessment and evaluation, developing individualized intervention programs for students with learning disabilities and learning differences. Designs individualized services and tutorials for identified students and serves as a consultant to academic and program faculty in guiding the development of special programs, assists in developing access to and participation in the academic and emotional growth curricula, and preparation for transition. Provides ancillary services such as SAT/ACT preparation, scheduling, accommodations, and management, distance learning opportunities, and career guidance and planning based on student needs. Informs parents and educational consultants on the availability of these services and seeks their support when appropriate. Serves as a liaison to post-secondary services, particularly in placement of students with learning disabilities and knowledge of student access/services to students with disabilities. Participates in faculty meetings, parent or family meetings, and attends special school functions as required. Maintains and submits reports regarding educational development on all constituents and performs other related duties as required by the Academic Director. Responsible for compliance with school Service Excellence standards. |
| Job Requirements: |
| MA, Counseling or related field. Appropriate teaching and/or counseling certification and/or licensure. Preference for dual certification in Science 9-12 and Special Education. Current CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) upon hire or within 90 days of hire. Valid Class B license and auto insurance if asked to drive company vehicle and/or transport students in private vehicle. Three years demonstrated experience in guidance counseling. Demonstrated experience in working with databases, power point, spreadsheets, word processing and other advanced computer operations. Experience working with at-risk and/or gifted learning disabled children preferred. |

| Boulder Creek Academy is a two-year therapeutic co-educational boarding school that enables 14-17 year old teens who are struggling with learning, behaviorial or emotional challenges. The 80 bed academy deliveries 9-12 grade academics and helps teens discover confidence and maturity. |
